Gemma's freshman year of high school isn't starting off like she expected. Things with Jess are a little weird, but she's not sure why. And Trace, who is completely in the friend zone, doesn't get the hint.

To make matters worse, Gemma and Drew befriend the new girl at school, who admits to having her own crush on Jess. But Gemma can't stake her claim on him, since she's not sure if he's hers to claim.

When the new girl devises a plan to get Jess to kiss her, old sparks between Gemma and Jess surface, threatening to burn everyone within reach.
